Very unprofessional no matter how pleasant the environment was. All 5 or 6 visits I had not once did I get asked for a payment. Got to payment area and either got an appointment card or was told every thing looked good and I could go
I have gone here since I was a little girl. Always very helpful, relaxing atmosphere, and kind staff. I now take my own four children there. The kids have never cried there- they always look forward to going...at the end, they get something cool out of the prize box:) The staff has always taken the time to explain each of what the kids OR myself has going on, explain the treatment, and take the extra step if needed to make several options for me. I will continue to make the 30 min+ drive from my home to see them for all of my family's dental needs- they are WORTH IT!
If I could rate this place a zero, I would. I brought my 4 year old son in for his first trip to the dentist ever. He was nervous, and he's kind of uneasy around new people anyway, let alone a new person sticking shiny metal objects in his mouth. The nurse came to get us and told us it was office policy to not allow parents to come back. When I reacted negatively to this, she said we could do the exam before the cleaning, and that I could be there for the exam. When Dr Johnson pulled his mouth with her mirror, he said "ow" and cried a little. No big deal right? Wrong. Dr Johnson pulled her mirror back out and in a very frustrated tone she huffed "next time, no parents in the room!" A dentist in a FAMILY practice was frustrated to practically shouting after about 30 seconds of sobbing from a 4 year old. Her tone was like when my mom used to give me my "final warning" before the whooping. My son was more frightened by her doing that than he was from the mild discomfort he experienced from her mirror. I would never recommend taking a child to this place, the word family should not be in the name.
Problem 2. No discussion on any prices until after the job was done
Not family friendly at all. Don't call your office "family" if you don't want to work with children. I made an appointment 6 weeks in advance and let them know that this was my son's first visit. They said everything would be fine and that they usually see them first at 3 or 4. Come to the office and the tech tried for 2 seconds to look in his mouth and when he refused she just said to go home and come back in 6 months. She was very rude and did not even try to assist or make it more comfortable for him. She suggested we go to a specialist. Great. Would love to. Will she be paying for that care that is not covered by my insurance?
I have been a patient of Dr. Bentley's since I was a little girl. He has always taken great care of me, and now he continues to take care of my family as well. Our most recent appointment was for myself and my three children. Michelle is always so sweet and this time she provided my kids with special coloring pages and crayons to help keep them occupied. Also, one of my daughters had the very beginnings of a cavity, and Jen was able to put a quick sealant on the tooth right then, rather than requiring us to come back for another visit. And Theresa always takes great care of us too! Thanks so much for always making our dental appointments painless and pleasant!
Problem 1.started working on me before knowing whether or not is my insurance was valid in their office
My experience was horrid yes the service was good altho lacking. They had no problem getting me in and serviced. And Dr Bently was even quite entertaining which you normally don't get.
Problem 3. After work was done I got a call almost 6 months later (mind you not 1 bill came in the mail) threatening me with collections. I thought we had a verbal agreement over the phone to be lied to.
Problem 4. (Free adjustments of their work) if not mistaken I thought this was for the lifetime of the work. Go in to the office to proceed with an adjustment and start payments to get turned away saying no work until paid. Mind you I was told the work in question was no charge with walk ins welcome. Not only did I not get the free adjustment but turned away to a collection agent for payment.
Discussed a payment option after the threats and agreed on payment at beginning of the year. January 2 came around a letter from collections agent.
